Th1rteen R3asons Why

Title: Thirteen Reasons Why
Author: Jay Asher

Summary:  This book is about Hannah Baker, who committed suicide.  She recorded tapes talking about the 13 people who played a part if her suicide.  The book is about Clay number 9 on the list, listening to the tapes.  At first he didn't want to read it because he will figure out secrets of everyone in it.  Soon after he wants to see if someone could have stopped her.

You can't stop the future.
You can't rewind the past
The only way to learn the secret
...is to press play.

My Review: I normally don't read books about suicide and upsetting situations.  This is the 2nd book I've read like this.  I am a paranormal, fantasy, romance type of person.  I gave it a shot though.  I must have seen it somewhere and the title caught my eye.  I borrowed it from my library and finished it in a day.  It's the type of book where once you start you needed to find out what happened.  Especially since Clay kept saying what did i do...I had to find out. Overall it was a good book.  Hannah had a lot of things, a lot of people affecting her life and she needed a way out.  She could have done what Clay asked, and opened up.  Maybe things would have changed and the other people on the tape would not matter.

I felt sorry for Clay.  He liked her and he had to sit there and listen to all of the people who did something wrong, to hurt her, knowing it was too late to try to save her.
Not sure if I am going to read another book like this.  It's different then what I'm used to reading.

Have a great weekend!
Enjoy reading!!
